PPK Ormawa is a Student Organisation Capacity Strengthening Program initiated by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Dit. Belmawa Ditjen Diktiristek). The purpose of this activity is to improve the quality of internal campus organisations throughout Indonesia while developing the soft skills and hard skills of the organisers. In addition, this programme also aims to train students to become transformational leaders in solving various problems in society.

In its implementation, the Student Organisation Capacity Strengthening Programme (PPK Ormawa) begins with the preparation of subproposals by ormawa who wish to participate in PPK Ormawa. The preparation of this subproposal is carried out as a reference or activity plan that will be implemented later.
The Government Science Student Association (Himip) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University became one of 2,289 student associations that participated in making subproposals that would be submitted to Belmawa.
Belmawa then selected all of the subproposals to find the best ones that would proceed to the next stage, namely the subproposal presentation stage or final selection. Then there will be another selection of student associations that have submitted subproposals and made presentations to be selected and given funding by Belmawa.

In this case, the PPK Ormawa Himip Fisip Unri Team succeeded in becoming one of the 620 teams that were successfully funded by Belmawa. In its subproposal, the PPK Ormawa Himip Fisip Unri Team made an innovation, namely ‘Smile Village: Strategy to Realise Smart Village through Smart Identity Learning and Education based on Partisispayory Rural Appraisal in Pagaruyung Village’.

With this success, Riau University through the Vice Chancellor III for Student Affairs and Alumni Cooperation appreciates by providing incentive funds that can be used for the continuity of the programme.
Not only that, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Riau University also expressed his appreciation by providing financial assistance to the PPK Ormawa Implementation Team from Fisip who passed the funding.
