Pekanbaru - The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Riau University held a retirement ceremony for three senior lecturers, Drs. Jon Yanis, M.Si., from the Department of Sociology, and Drs. Isril, M.H., and Drs. M.Y. Tyas Tinov, M.Si., from the Department of Government Science. This tribute and thank you event was held on 4 November 2024, attended by the leadership, lecturers, and staff of FISIP Riau University.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Riau University, Dr Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and contribution of the three lecturers for decades in building, educating, and developing knowledge in FISIP. ‘Drs. Jon Yanis, M.Si., Drs. Isril, M.H., and Drs. M.Y. Tyas Tinov, M.Si., are figures who have set an example through commitment and integrity. Through their extraordinary dedication, FISIP Riau University has developed into an outstanding faculty that we can all be proud of,’ said Dr Meyzi.
Dr Meyzi also emphasised that the dedication and values that the three lecturers have taught will continue to be an inspiration for the academic community at FISIP. ‘Pak Jon, Pak Isril and Pak Tinov are not only lecturers, but also mentors who have guided and shaped many of the next generation in our beloved FISIP. We are very grateful for their valuable service to this faculty.’
The retirement event was filled with the expression of impressions and messages from the three retiring lecturers. Drs. Jon Yanis, M.Si., Drs. Isril, M.H., and Drs. M.Y. Tyas Tinov, M.Si., each expressed gratitude and appreciation for the opportunities given so far at FISIP Riau University. They also hope that FISIP will continue to grow and be able to produce quality graduates.
This release was closed with the handover of plaques and tokens as a form of appreciation from the faculty. The Dean of FISIP closed his remarks by praying for the three lecturers who entered retirement to get blessings and health and continue to contribute to the academic world and society.
