Pekanbaru, 20 January 2025 - The Department of Government Science, Riau University, held a team teaching meeting for the Village Government Functional Position Group on Monday, 20 January 2025. The meeting took place in the Akar Beluru meeting room of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University, and was attended by lecturers who are members of the Village Government course teaching group. The meeting was chaired by Dr Auradian Marta, S.IP, MA, who is also the Chair of the Village Government Lecturer Functional Position Group.

This meeting aims to improve the quality of learning through the discussion of various strategic agendas, namely; First, updating the Semester Learning Plan (RPS). In order to maintain the relevance and quality of the learning process, the course teaching team agreed to update the RPS. This updating process includes adjusting lecture materials with the latest developments in the field of village government, integrating the latest learning resources, and adjusting to the competency standards of the Indonesian Government Science Study Program Association (KAPSIPI). Second, adjusting lecture activities with the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method to encourage active student involvement, the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method will be implemented more intensively. This method is expected to improve students' analytical and practical skills through projects based on real problems in the village. Third, preparation for the implementation of practicum in village government courses, one of the main agendas of the meeting was to prepare the implementation of practicum in village government courses. This practicum aims to provide direct experience to students in understanding village governance. The teaching team plans a practicum scheme that involves cooperation with the local village government which will be agreed upon when the lecture has started.

During the meeting, the Head of Village Government KJFD, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP, M.Si, ‘conveyed the importance of collaboration between lecturers to ensure the implementation of effective and applicable learning. In addition, all meeting participants agreed to continue monitoring the implementation of planned programmes to achieve optimal results’.

The meeting ended with the determination of the work schedule and the division of tasks for each member of the teaching team. The results of this meeting are expected to improve the quality of learning and make a real contribution to strengthening the capacity of students in the field of village government.
