On 8 October 2024, lecturers from the Department of Government Science at Riau University carried out community service activities in Kampung Dosan, Pusako District, Siak Regency. This activity raised the theme ‘Governance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMKam) Based on Green Village,’ with a focus on BUMKam management that supports environmental sustainability and community welfare.
The event was attended by various elements of the community, including Penghulu Kampung Dosan, Village Clerks, village officials, members of the Village Consultative Body (BPK), village facilitators, heads of Rukun Warga (RW) and Rukun Tetangga (RT), members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), Karang Taruna, Village Community Empowerment Agency (LPMK), Village Customary Institution, community leaders, and BUMKam managers.


In this activity, Rury Febrina, S.IP, M.Si, Lecturer in Government Science explained various BUMKam management strategies oriented towards the Green Village concept, ‘one of the dimensions of TAKE SIAK Hijau or (Ecological Based District Budget Transfer) is Economic Improvement and Poverty Reduction in line with the principle of environmental sustainability. This can be started from improving good BUMKam governance and capturing opportunities to develop ecological and sustainable BUMKam business units,’ he said.


Penghulu Kampung Dosan Zamri, S.Ag said that ‘Kampung Dosan itself has received an allocation of TAKE Funds sourced from DBH DR of Rp 179 million in 2024, we have used it to support various community activity programmes, such as the “Fire Care Community” programme, improved sanitation, and reforestation at Khalifah Sulaiman Park’. He, also expressed his hope that BUMKam can improve its governance and capture business development opportunities that care for the environment so that it can be optimal in developing village potential. 
With this community service activity, it is hoped that BUMKam governance in Kampung Dosan will improve, so that it can become a driving force for independent and democratic village economic development through the development of sustainable business units.
